Teacher Appreciation Night is one of my favorite events that I volunteer photography for because I think teachers are so under-appreciated for all they do for our kids. From helping kids to aspire to higher goals to feeling better about themselves and what they can do, there are so many ways teachers can inspire students. I enjoy hearing the teachers’ tributes written by the students and how the teachers made a difference to them.
This event is hosted by Joana Canals from Colorado’s Best Fox Channel 2. This event included many dignitaries including the Deputy Superintendent of Schools a member of the State Department of Education, Assistant Principals from Chaparral and Legend High Schools, and two town Council Members. Leaders from the students’ churches from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints also were included in the dinner. The food was prepared and elegantly served by Juniors from the two high schools. Since I have had two daughters who attended both schools, I know many of the teachers who were chosen and know what great teachers there are receiving these coveted awards.
I’m looking forward to seeing my photos featured Monday morning on Colorado’s best, too!
