This was a baby shower that simply was amazing! My friend, Willie Ripple, of Willie Ripple Events, CSEP, planned a baby shower that exceeded any I have been to with so many activities and the decor was above and beyond in every detail! Her daughter, Michelle, is having a baby in March and waiting until the baby comes to find out if it will be a boy or a girl. So Willie decorated everything in light blues and pinks. The Denver Marriott Tech Center was perfect for her baby shower, too!
When guests arrived, they entered a lobby with cotton candy being made, a room with teddy bears and a photo booth. Then they walked down “Baby Lane” decorated with lots of Michelle’s childhood toys and reached a bar area with her desk from when she was a girl. The desk had a variety of juices, toys and books, and an appetizer station with flatbread pizzas sliced, and bar were next to it.
The guests were held off from entering the final room by a door tied with a big bow. Willie, Michelle, and Dorian (the Special Events Director of the Hotel) all pulled the bow to open the door. The guests were “wowed” when the entered to see a chandelier bar with beautifully decorated cookies and cake pops. A special balloon arch went over some beautiful golden-accented chairs for the gift-opening time. The guests enjoyed soup, salad, and bread for lunch prepared by the hotel’s chefs. A guest performer led the guests in a baby shower Nursery Rhyme game and then sang a Billy Joel lullaby. Beautiful florals and linens were so elegant with the tableware design!
Michelle then got ready to open her gifts. She was surprised by the hotel chef surprising everyone with freshly-baked homemade chocolate chip cookies and milk. When Michelle got married she requested an ice cream cake, and for her baby shower she hoped for warm cookies or brownies and her mom surprised her with this request. Her grandmother who had passed away was represented by a golden rose placed on the chair Michelle sat on. When Michelle finished opening the children’s books she received as gifts, everyone was invited to pop the balloons before they left.
