We’ve had a couple of weeks off from the weekly blog, time to get back on track! This week’s theme is “Expand Your Mind.” I never seem to find time to read books, but it is always a constant goal of mine to do more reading. So here are some of the things I’m reading.
I picked up this Digital Photographer magazine; it has some tips I’ve been wanting to learn. And, I love cookbooks, I’ve got a big collection. I just love looking at recipes and wondering how the recipe will turn out or thinking, “this will be great to make for that event.”
I’ve just started making freezer meals and have enjoyed how it makes my busy life a little less hectic (except for the day I get the food ready, of course). When things are crazy, I don’t have to get fast food. Fabulous Freezer Meals, by Jenny Ahlstrom Stanger, has lots of recipes that look delicious and tips for getting started doing freezer meals.
Also, this year we’re trying to do better at budging and saving for retirement some day, so Rich bought me Save Wisely, Spend Happily by Sharon L. Lechter, CPA with lots of tips by other CPAs. What I like is that it is in everyday language, not complex financial terminology, so someone like me who’s not an expert can read it and understand what they are teaching about wise financial investing and spending.
